Jeannette Pineiro is the founder of America’s Gateway, Inc. dba Cruiseport Destinations, in Miami, Florida, and serves as President since 2007. She studied Political Science at the University of Miami with a major in International Relations with a minor in Psychology.

Through her leadership, Cruiseport Destinations has become one of the most important Ground Handlers for the Cruise Industry in the United States by serving South Florida ports and airports. Cruiseport Destinations was specifically created to provide Ground Services, including Terminal, Airport, Hotel, Transportation and Port Agency Services for the Cruise Industry. Since the first day in business, Cruiseport Destinations has been focused on creating a company culture that represents the core values of its founder and President, with a company culture that is intrinsically customer-centric and provides conscientious, friendly, professional, and efficient service; with individuals that effectively represent the local community’s diversity, uniqueness and warmth.

Her dedication to the travel industry spans over three decades where she held various top management positions overseeing hundreds of employees participating in the growth of the Miami Dade’s cruise industry and the hotel industry of the Caribbean. In her current role she is charged with handling, planning and coordinating cruise line turnarounds in Port Miami and Port Canaveral. Cruiseport Destinations hires hundreds of employees, many in the ideal demographic that provides hope for future hospitality employee growth in Miami Dade. Eighty percent of the employees are 15–26-year-olds; and 20% are retired citizens, many who previously worked in cruise lines, airlines or hotels.
She believes in teaching children and residents of Miami Dade the importance of the Hospitality industry, being that Miami-Dade County is one of the most important tourism destinations in the country and is also home for companies active in the Hospitality & Tourism sector. Among them are major cruise lines (Carnival Corporation, Royal Caribbean Cruises, Norwegian Cruise Line and their portfolio of cruise brands) and many hotel chains which have their regional offices in Miami (Intercontinental Hotels Group Latin America, Hilton International, Radisson Hotels & Resorts Latin America, Unique Vacations/Sandals Resorts and Hyatt Hotel Corporation).

In late 2020, Pineiro was expecting to open a Hospitality Trade School to serve the Miami Dade community’s constant need to reduce employee turnover by having a solid curriculum for residents wanting to work in front-line positions at hotels, such as front desks and housekeeping as well as customer service jobs such as Cruiseport Destinations. Progress with Miami-Dade County Public Schools, Office of Adult/Vocational Alternative & Community Education was moving along and then the pandemic of 2020 placed these plans on pause. She is looking forward to proceeding with the Trade School plans and predicts its realization in 2022.

Pineiro strongly believes in social causes and in giving back to the community. While being the Community Development Vice President for the Coral Gables Jaycees she met Rick Shaw, disc jockey for WAXY106 and morning host at Magic 102.7 when he was the Chairman of the board of “Kids in Crisis” the fund-raising arm of “Kids in Distress”, an organization helping abused and neglected children, in Miami Dade and West Palm Beach counties. Her involvement with “Kids in Crisis” led her to become Chairman of the Florida Chapter and later this evolved into “Amigos for Kids”, a Florida organization that aims to increase awareness of strengthening families and educating communities for the prevention of child abuse and neglect. Jeannette says, “Serving in these organizations reminds me daily to be grateful and have empathy; and Hospitality is all about empathy.”

Jeannette works with Big Brothers and Big Sisters to obtain employees from their youth roster. Also, she volunteers at Camillus House and Saints Peter and Paul School.
Jeannette Pineiro has two children. Ryan Montana Rodrigues who is the business owner of Macho Cycles and Rodrigues Gems; and Rachel Sky Rodrigues who graduated cum laude from Florida International University in 2021 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and works at a private school in Coconut Grove, Florida.
